Yeah, yeah, I know I am a bit behind with contests but I am trying to figure out how you can load pictures. For now, load your picture of your favorite layout to flickr, shutterfly, box.net or wherever you like to load pics to share. Once you load it you should have a share option. Click that option, get the link and then paste it into the comment that you leave on the blog. So, we will carry on with the contest from last week until some people can get their layouts loaded. In the meantime we are starting a new contest! This also involves sharing your masterpieces...hey, I am not the only one that has to work around here!:)
School has just started for many of our children and back to school pages are everywhere. I am sure you have many superb back to school layouts from years past that you need to share with us. So do it! Be brave! Share those layouts! The winner chosen next Friday night gets a free spot in the first session of our Back to School Album Class! You didn't know about that class? Well, check out the details below!
We are doing a year long class that will help you scrapbook your child's or children's school year while managing all the papers etc that come home every day. Class will meet at the end of each month and you will spend the following month gathering all the gems that represent school! Now, in an effort to make things relevant and real right now, I am using my two boys who started kindergarten and 5th grade today as models for this class. I took pictures this morning and have almost finished putting the pages together. Pictures will show up here before morning...I PROMISE! But, I wanted you to grab thoughts from them before they go to bed tonight...while it is still fresh. Some questions that you might ask them (or even have them write themselves) to add life and humor to your pages...
- What was the highlight for the day?
- What was the very best thing that happened?
- Did you make any new friends?
- Is there anything that you are worried about, happy about, sad about?
You can also capture any funny things they have said about the first day...lot's of possibilities there!
Grab up the bits and pieces of things they brought home...bus stickers, notes from teachers, classroom assignment postcard or letter, the note you stuck in their lunch box! :) get a big envelope and stash these treasures in it.
In the next few days, load your pictures onto your computer and print out a first day of school shot in a 5x7. print any other crazy shots in regular size. I use Walgreen's for my picture processing and they are great! Stash these away with the bits and pieces. Gather these things and take more pictures over the next week and then call the store and join us for class on the 28th! It will be fabulous!
P.S. Come back later for those promised pictures of the layouts and a little more info on the class!

I can't let this go without adding at least one photo. This page is from last fall and features my adorable nephew on his first day of school.
